Mark your calendars. The Fourth Annual Conference in Advanced Technological Education in Semiconductor Manufacturing will take place August 3-6, 1998 in Portland, Oregon. The conference, co-sponsored by MATEC and Portland Community College, is designed for educators and administrators at community colleges, high schools and four-year institutions, trainers, workforce development specialists, interested personnel from industry and suppliers. Join colleagues from across the country for workshops, exhibits and thought provoking sessions.

New this year:

    • an expanded pre-conference session with two days of workshops
    • IBM will present their groundbreaking work with copper interconnects (see related article p.5)
    • the Motorola Teacher of the Year Award

Adjunct Faculty Workshop for Industry Personnel

The conference will be held at the Portland Hilton Hotel. For Hilton reservations call (800) 445-8667, the conference group code is ATE. Room rates are $110.00 for single and double occupancy. Rates are guaranteed until July 17, 1998. After July 17th, reservation requests will be accepted on a space available basis at the Hilton’s best available rate.

Please guarantee your room with a credit card, as all unreserved rooms will be released on July 18th. Guaranteed reservations that are canceled 72 hours prior to arrival will be accepted without penalty.
