The MATEC Faculty Development Summer Calendar wound down with an SPC workshop hosted by Austin Community College – Austin, TX. This three-day workshop was presented by Michael Quirk (Austin Community College) and Don Studebaker (Advanced Micro Devices) on August 10-12, 1998. The workshop included the following topics: high volume manufacturing principles, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and how to effectively use SPC to improve wafer fab manufacturing. The faculty participated in lab activities utilizing industry relevant software, SPC applications and examples taken from wafer fab manufacturing data.
Look for the next Statistical Process Controls Workshop November 16-18th in Tempe, AZ, which will feature other industry relevant software tools. A computer software statistical package, Statgraphics will be incorporated into this workshop.
