Design of MATEC Modules MATEC modules provide five to eight hours of instruction on specific processes (e.g., Module 47: The Etch Process), equipment (e.g., Module 27: Implant Equipment), or cross-functional knowledge/skill domains (e.g., Module 11: Environment, Health, and Safety). Although modules contain student materials (e.g., exercises, notes, and workbooks), their primary purpose is to provide performance support to instructors. Thus, module materials are designed for immediate use and require minimal preparation by the instructor. Each module consists of four major components which prepare the instructor, organize the delivery and sequence of content material, support teaching and learning events, and verify that students achieve the intended knowledge and skills. A brief description is provided for each module component. |
