About LIL

What is LIL?

The MATEC Learning Invention Lab (LIL) is an online workshop that brings together top educators from across the country in the fields of semiconductor manufacturing, advanced manufacturing technology, automation, and electronics.  At the LIL faculty share their new ideas and proven innovative classroom approaches, experiments, and techniques.

The LIL is held online and via conference call, so the participants "attend" while never leaving their desk.  It is an interactive workshop in which each participant gives a 15 minute presentation on their learning invention and participates in moderated discussion, polling, and evaluation that takes place after each presentation.

What is the goal of LIL?

LIL is held to give faculty a forum for presentation, discussion, and implementation of new classroom ideas.  Moving the workshop to a virtual environment allows for more faculty to participate without the hassle and expense of travel and time away from the classroom.  LIL is a resource for faculty to develop and continue developing classroom innovations by creating close connections with colleagues from across the country.

How do I get involved?

Participation in LIL is currently by application only.  Application forms can be found on the Upcoming LIL page.  For more information, contact MATEC .
